I remember my mom’s kitchen can opener - she had purchased it in brown to match the brown refrigerator she had. It had a knife sharpener in the back, though I don’t recall the knife sharpener ever working very well on it. It was a long time ago and it was a rather clunky looking gadget that never seemed to know where it belonged on the kitchen counter. It ended up being parked near the stove and unfortunately it became a bit rusty and coated with kitchen grease over the years. As Thanksgiving fast approaches, I’ve started looking ahead to making plans for the holiday. While it’s still weeks away, I like thinking about the dinner menu and desserts ahead of time so everything goes smoothly. Plus some family members enjoy bringing their own dish or dessert, so they like knowing what’s in store to prevent ending up with duplicate dishes.
