Grow a Forest of Italian Cypress Bonsai Trees

The Italian Cypress (cupressus sempervirens), or Mediterranean Cypress, is a great outdoor bonsai tree to grow in groups. Originally found in the eastern Mediterranean area, this bonsai is susceptible to the cold. This means you’re going to either have to bring it in during the winter or grow it in a fairly warm climate. However, it’s certainly worth the trouble. These bonsai look amazing when grown in small groves. They feature very fine green/gray leaves that actually grow in flattened sprays. Installing Countertop Water Filter Becomes a School Project

My young daughter needed to find an environmental project for fifth grade class and her suggestion was to stop using bottled water.  Unfortunately, we live in a community where the water tastes bad, so I told her that wasn’t an option.  However, my precocious child had already done her homework, and suggested that we could buy a affordable countertop water filter to make the tap water easier to drink.  In fact, she had been saving money from her allowance, and offered to pay for it as part of her project.  How could I say no?  It was a good cause and something she really believed in.
